Debbie’s Story

Debbie is a passionate and dedicated Learning and Development specialist with a HR background and 20 years of experience. Debbie specialises in leadership and management development, coaching, performance management, team building and cultural change. She has a proven track record in the diagnosis, design, delivery and evaluation of soft skills development interventions improving both individual and business performance.

Debbie has a pragmatic approach and draws on her own personal experience to ensure solutions meet business needs. She expertly fosters great relationships with business leaders at all levels. She takes time to understand customer needs to ensure development solutions are challenging and impactful. Her facilitation skills consistently receive excellent customer feedback. 

Prior to setting up in business as an independent Management Development Consultant in 2014, Debbie spent 6 years at Shop Direct, the UK’s leading online and home shopping retailer. During that time, she worked with a variety of business areas across the UK, China, Hong Kong and Bangladesh. Prior to that she was a Management Development Consultant for Everyday Financial Services.

Debbie designed and implemented development solutions as part of establishing Shop Direct’s comprehensive leadership and management development offer, contributing to improved sales growth and an increase in colleague engagement measures. She redesigned the internal leadership programme for high potential managers. This resulted in an improvement in leadership behaviours and KPIs in participants successfully achieving accreditation.  Debbie was latterly responsible for ensuring the current portfolio of management training aligned to a new business strategy and values.

Debbie has extensive coaching experience and is a qualified practitioner of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Step I and Step II, the Team Management System  (TMSDI), DiSC and the Insights Discovery System.

In her earlier career Debbie worked for many years at Barclays Bank PLC, firstly in HR, then as a Management Trainer and finally as a Learning and Development Manager.

Since setting up in business Debbie has worked with a variety of organisations, large and small, in various sectors, including IT, Engineering and Manufacturing.  Debbie is a preferred suppler for Princes Food Group and a Learning Partner for Atkins (now part of SNC Lavalin).
